Connecting Students to Colleges and Careers

The transition between high school and postsecondary experiences is a critical moment in young adults’ sense of civic identity. This research examines student interest in different types of civic engagement as well as their assessment of their own and peers’ civic attitudes.

This research examines how postsecondary attitudes, access, outcomes, and economic returns vary across racial and ethnic groups in the U.S., highlighting differences in preparation, guidance, and financial resources.

This research examines high school seniors’ sentiment toward the value of college before, during, and after the pandemic. Substantial declines in favorable views about the value of college during the pandemic are not explained by similarly timed changes in costs and benefits associated with college. Students who express less favorable views of college after the pandemic are more likely to enroll than similar pre-pandemic students, suggesting a change in the connection between student sentiment and actions.
