The following reports detail participation and performance for the 2001 AP Exam administration. That year, 820,880 candidates took 1,380,146 AP Exams. These candidates represented 12,960 U.S. secondary schools. Total program participation also included 34,241 examinations (for a global total of 1,414,387 exams) taken by 23,861 candidates from approximately 720 schools abroad.
